Recently we went out for a special photoshoot to launch our newest product: fish-filled dog food, perfect for adventurous dogs with a taste for healthy food. For this shoot, colleague Noémie was accompanied by Niklas, a good friend and also her boss at the husky sledding company Below Zero Husky Tours where she works part-time during the winter months. Niklas is a true nature lover and adventurer, who prefers to be surrounded by his loyal pack of huskies. Together we went out into the untouched Swedish nature for one day – a perfect setting to capture the story of our fish-filled dog food.
On the way to the off-the-grid cabin
Our destination? An off-the-grid cabin, hidden deep in the vast forests of Sweden. This simple cabin, owned by Niklas, is far away from civilization and promises an atmosphere of peace and connection with nature. The hike to the cabin took us through dense forests, over rough paths, while enjoying the crisp autumn weather. After a while of walking we arrived at the cabin, where everything revolved around simplicity and being together with nature. Close to the cabin is an idyllic lake, surrounded by pine trees and not yet completely in the grip of winter.
The perfect setting for a fishing shoot
The idea behind our photoshoot was to highlight the origins of our new product: dog biscuits with a rich whitefish flavour. A fishing session on the lake was therefore the ideal way to capture this connection with nature and healthy food. So, together with Luna – the pack leader of Niklas’ husky pack – we got into the rowing boat. Luna, an experienced and calm dog, was the perfect companion for our relaxing trip across the lake. She nestled comfortably on a sheepskin and fell into a light sleep while we quietly drifted across the water.
A cold, quiet morning on the water
It was the first weekend of November, and here in Sweden that meant sharp temperatures. There was even a thin layer of ice along the shore of the lake, a harbinger of the coming winter. It was exciting to see if we could catch anything despite the cold. Fortunately, the sun was shining brightly, and the lake was completely still – no sound except for the soft lapping of the water against the boat. We took in the moment, enjoying the peace and the fresh air.
A successful catch
Just when we thought it would be a fishless trip, we got a bite! The excitement was high for all of us, including Luna, who woke up and looked curiously at the water. With our catch and a sense of satisfaction, we decided to return to the cabin, because at this time of year the sun is setting fast in Sweden. The boat was pulled out of the water and carefully stored for the winter, and with our catch we walked back through the forest to the warm, inviting cabin.
Back at the cabin: time for warmth and gutsy white fish chunks
Back at the cabin we enjoyed the warmth of the fire and shared stories about our day. Luna got a well-deserved portion of our new Gutsy White Fish chunks, a snack that was clearly a hit! It was the perfect end to a day that was all about the simplicity of nature, the power of pure ingredients and the connection with the world around us.
Our photoshoot was more than just capturing images; it was an experience that captured the essence of our product. The combination of nature, healthy ingredients and a love for adventurous dogs made this day special.
