At Gutsy we are proud to have some very cool and inspiring people in our Gutsy ambassador team , just like photographer and illustrator Tasja Van Rymenant and her Golden Retriever Jos . Last month they set off with their camper for a new adventure, and they are happy to tell you more about it.
September and a huge need to travel. Our mother's heart can't handle traveling without Jos, so it was a no-brainer that we would find a nice environment where she would feel at home. We considered a few destinations and eventually we ended up in Scotland : the country par excellence for wild camping and making Jos happy: dogs are allowed to run free unleashed (under control) in the forests and the vast, untouched areas full of beautiful nature.
Bonus points for the pleasant climate for the dog and for the number of lakes and rivers where she could swim to her heart's content.
We crossed the ocean with the camper on the ferry and suddenly drove on the left instead of
from the right. The days after were filled with many hikes (Jos happy = everyone happy),
quite a bit of (mountain) climbing, some struggling in the rain, exhausted in the evening
flop down in the camper and immediately fall asleep snoring, continuously sniffing and gaining energy from Gutsy's food and cookies.
The snacks were a huge hit. Because they are so compact we took them with us on every hike we did and we have a vague suspicion that Jos would have loved nothing more than to see them appear everywhere during a brisk walk throughout the day.
Extra points for Scotland and Gutsy. We made some really great memories and are always happy to see Jos enjoying himself on the road - with the necessary snacks, because no snacks = no party ;)
